Troubleshooting & Fixes

Official guide to resolving app crashes, library sync issues, and audio output glitches.

Troubleshooting Audio Errors

Issue 1: Downloaded Songs Are Missing

If you downloaded an MP3 or received an audio file via WhatsApp, but it isn't showing up in your library, the media scanner likely filtered it out.

The Fix: Go to the app Settings > Advanced Settings > "Filter audio files". Ensure the "By size" (e.g. hiding files under 500KB) and "By length" filters aren't hiding your track. Then, manually tap "Scan local music".

Issue 2: The App Crashes Randomly

Frequent crashes or frozen screens are usually caused by corrupted cache files after a recent MIUI system update.

The Fix: Navigate to your phone's Settings > Apps > Manage Apps > Music. Tap "Clear Data" and select "Clear Cache". (Do not worry, this will not delete your actual MP3 files or playlists).

Issue 3: Audio Plays but is Too Quiet

If your device volume is maxed out but the song is still quiet, the original file was likely exported with low gain or compression.

The Fix: The app cannot fix the file's inherent volume. Use our free online Volume Booster tool to safely amplify the file's waveform, download the louder version, and play it in Mi Music.
